Something New

This past Saturday I didn’t publish any blog post. There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, I’ll admit that my last post was one of the most mentally draining pieces I’ve ever written. It was difficult for me to give the diligence due another post within only a few days of finishing 20 Years. I’ve written repeatedly that I only post that which I feel is worth the time spent reading. I wouldn’t have been able to put up something that would’ve satisfied that requirement, so I decided to forego putting up anything.

In addition to the mental exhaustion I felt, I’ve also been spending a lot of time on a photography project. Photography is something that I’ve been interested in for some time. I’ve posted some of my photographs from my travels here in the past. However, I have many more photos, and I’ve begun thinking that they deserve their own space. As such, I’ve decided to launch a separate website where that will focus exclusively on photography.

I still plan on writing here, but there won’t be any more posts titled ‘The Amateur Photographer’. I still like that name, and it certainly applies to me now. This is even more the case as I’ve really started getting into editing photos. I realize how much I don’t know at this point. Yet with this switch, there won’t be an emphasis on photography on this site any longer. I’ll still post photos to go along with the blog posts, but that will likely be the extent of any photographic presence here.

With that said, I would ask that you join me at BrettRobertsPhotography.com. You may see a few of the photos I’ve already posted here on Pilgrim Shelter, but there are plenty more to come. Thank you!
